My mission is to help women in and out of recovery to discover, define, and develop the healthy tools they need to navigate through life.
Growing up, I never felt like I fit in with others; it always seemed like everyone knew what to do, when to do it, and how to look good doing it. Throughout my life, I have struggled with issues of low self-esteem, a lack of confidence, depression, and tremendous FEAR.
I lacked a moral compass, always trying to be what YOU thought I should be, and my values and boundaries were either severely skewed or nonexistent. I coped with my self-imposed limited life in the easiest manner I could find: with alcohol.
And alcohol worked for a while.
Then it didn’t.
Life got really ugly. I’ll spare you the gory details, but suffice it to say, I hit rock-bottom and it wasn’t pretty. I was so filled with shame, despair, and hopelessness that I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. I was in so much pain, that all I wanted to do was to make it end.
Call it a God or an “a-ha” moment or a spiritual awakening, but my pain and the pain I had caused others was great enough to compel me to get help for my addiction.
My first step in recovery began with a woman who gave me hope for a better life. One tiny, precious spark of hope but enough to make me want to protect it and grow it. As I grew in my recovery, I met many other women (and men) who helped me stand up straight, lift my chin up, and face life on life’s terms.
It hasn’t been easy, but I know that my life is filled with purpose and meaning.
I started esperanza life and recovery coaching as a way to nurture the spark of hope in other women whether they are in recovery or not. I intimately know the pain, loneliness, and isolation that takes a toll on us physically, emotionally, and spiritually, regardless of the cause.
I’ve experienced great loss and had to learn to use new, healthy tools to cultivate a positive, resilient spirit. I also know that beauty, joy, confidence, and serenity lie on the other side and, with some help and guidance, you can achieve your best life, as well.
That’s why I created the 3D Approach to Change™. Together, I will help you to Discover, Define, and Develop the goals and desires within yourself so that you can begin to change the course of your life. You will be on the path to living a life that is physically, emotional, and spiritually fulfilling.
